Joint Statement by Iran, Russia, and Turkey on Regional Issues
WANA (Nov 12) – Iran, Russia, and Turkey issued a joint statement condemning Israeli crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, as well as the occupying regime’s attacks on Lebanon and Syria.
On Tuesday, within the framework of the Astana talks on Syria, the three countries released a statement denouncing the Israeli regime’s aggressive actions in the West Asia region, describing them as violations of international law.
In the statement, Iran, Russia, and Turkey condemned the Israeli regime’s genocide in Gaza, along with its aggressions against Lebanon and the West Bank, calling for an immediate ceasefire. They also condemned all military attacks by the occupying regime in Syria, considering such actions to be in breach of international regulations.
The three nations emphasized that the escalation of violence in West Asia has a negative impact on the situation in Syria.
They further highlighted that UN structures should implement measures to assist Lebanese refugees in Syria who have relocated there following the intensification of conflicts.
Russia, Turkey, and Iran also reaffirmed the importance of continuing efforts to normalize relations between Ankara and Damascus. They voiced their opposition to the ongoing illegal seizure and transfer of oil and other resources that rightfully belong to the Syrian people.
The statement added that Iran, Russia, and Turkey agreed to intensify efforts to ensure a stable normalization of conditions in the Idlib de-escalation zone and its surroundings, with a focus on improving the humanitarian situation.
Additionally, they called for urgent action by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, agencies, and all humanitarian organizations to take immediate measures to assist those who were forced to relocate to Syria from Lebanon due to the intensifying hostilities.
The three countries agreed to hold the 23rd meeting of the “Astana Process” in Russia in the first half of 2025.
